Landscape

These lithographs respond to watercolors made en plein air in the desert landscapes of New Mexico. I am drawn to the abstract forms and fleeting qualities of light and space captured in these on-site watercolors. Through lithography, I isolate and amplify these elements, creating prints that are not reproductions but transformations of memory and experience into a new, graphic language.

The works were produced using traditional stone and aluminum plate lithography. I employ litho tusche washes, crayon, sanding, scraping, and blended inking techniques to build layers of color and texture. The process emphasizes the materiality of printmaking and allows me to translate the ephemeral qualities of the landscape into something tangible and enduring.
